Empty Nest Man’s Daily Prayer

Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. In the name of Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior I pray that I will make the very best of TODAY–YOUR PRESENT TO ME. Please, Lord, forgive me of my sins. May your Holy Spirit imbibe me with faith, belief, and help me accomplish everything I need to accomplish to realize the dream of 2017 and beyond. Father, in you there is strength. Without you, there is nothing. May I long to be with you more than anything.

In the name of Jesus Christ I pray, I will glorify God today and every day for the rest of my life.

In the name of Jesus Christ I pray, Lord, tune my ears to your voice today and keep them tuned to the voice of God every day for the rest of my life.

In the name of Jesus Christ I pray, Lord, tune my eyes to see you at work and may I join you today and every day in that work for the rest of my life.

In the name of Jesus Christ I pray, Lord, help me do the things Christ expects me to do as a Christ follower today and every day for the rest of my life.

In the name of Jesus Christ I pray, Lord, help me to live justly, love mercy, and walk humbly before you today and every day for the rest of my life.

In the name of Jesus Christ I pray, Lord, help me to become a man after your own heart today and every day for the rest of my life. May I live by the Spirit and not by the spirits.

In the name of Jesus Christ I pray, Lord, please present another opportunity for both the wife and I to do ministry together this year in this community. Help us to love with actions and in truth. Help us to do acts of kindness wherever we see them needing to be done. May we recognize our cross, pick it up, and follow Jesus. May we lose our lives in this world so that we can find our lives in Christ.

In the name of Jesus Christ I pray, Lord, may we be a part of the body of Christ doing amazing, Christ-focused things in our community this year. Help us to understand and plug in where you want us. Until then, may we continue to linger here with you, worship you, and commune with you in this desert.

What words with God do you use to draw you closer to his company?
