NEIGHBORHOOD NATURE: Empty nests

My neighbors of the last 34 years abandoned their nest last week. They moved away, leaving only memories behind. They were older than us and offered a warm welcome and neighborly advice when we moved in. Their kids babysat our kids and then our kids babysat their grandkids. We went through deaths, graduations, weddings and births together. We laughed and chatted over the fence that connected our yards. We fed each other’s pets and took long walks filled with long talks.Losing good
