Experts predict future shortage of healthcare providers | KMPH

Experts say by 2030, the U. S. is expected to see a shortage in primary care physicians. Here in the Central Valley, local doctors say we’re already seeing a decline in healthcare providers. Health experts say Americans are living longer and requiring more care later in life, and say doctors themselves are aging out of the profession. Studies show that not enough new doctors are going into primary care. They say a third of them in our state currently are over 55 and looking to retire soon.
