I’ve been a designer since 1991. That’s 26 years of creative.

That’s a long time to stare at an empty white page.

Pagemaker. Quark. Now InDesign. Illustrator. Photoshop. Put it all together and tie it with a bow.

I decided to break free this year and try some more SAAS (Software as a Service). This time it’s is a very nice in-the-can design tool. Their boast is “Now everyone can design.”

The next erotic series covers will be designed with The first cover went well.

A little confining for someone so used to staring at the empty white page.

But sometimes it’s refreshing to have the suggestion of “START HERE.”

We’ll see how it goes.

I know this: it’s less expensive.

Less expensive than an Adobe Cloud subscription.

Less expensive than stock photography.

And the cover was… workmanlike.

At the end of the day, I choose not to judge my book covers.

Give the audience a chore.

They’ll decide if the book cover is golden or not.

Selling erotica on Amazon KDP weighs very heavily on the cover.

So, I’m kind of betting my success on for this next series.

The last series cost me approximately $210 in stock photography, a dozen hours in design. We did pretty well. Just about at the break even point a year in.

This Canva cover has cost me about $9 in stock photography.

That’s a significant difference. A lot quicker to break even.

I hope.

For now, the jury is still out on We will let you know how it goes.
