The Journey Day 50 01.30.20

Day 50. Day 47 of #75HARD. Therapy was last night. I slept in yesterday because I had to–I was exhausted. That put me behind a serious eight ball last night. I had to get a lot of shit done when I got home. IT GOT DONE. But now that eight ball has moved to this morning. A 1 am bedtime followed by a 4 am wake-up has me tired as hell and grinding it out. I’m really praying for the weekend now. Lord, my God, help me find the strength to get through this day. To get it all done. To thrive.

I’m grateful that at 55 I can still get by on 3 hours of sleep. That’s a gift, friend. I know I’ll pay for it later in the day, but all I can do now is plow and hope for the best. That, and get my ass in bed tonight as soon as the last task is accomplished.

I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.

Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.

Listening to and reporting on the talk inside of my head:
In talking with the therapist last night, I’ve asked to continue seeing him through the end of this #75HARD experience, through the finish of the 90-Day Burn, and then, hopefully, through at least one more cycle of the 90-Day Burn. He agreed. Now, I pray, that the financial situation will not change in a negative fashion so that I can make this happen.

SELF-SUGGESTION: THIS IS WHERE I’M GOING. WHERE IS THE PROOF OF PROGRESS TOWARD THAT GOAL TODAY? This is where the rubber hits the road, team. This is the good stuff. These are the end goals. This is what it’s all about.

  1. I am a man after God’s own heart.
  2. I am a world-class athlete. 
  3. I drive a world-class $100M publishing business.
  4. I help drive the company I work for to $100M. 
  5. is the marketing machine that drives the $100M publishing company. 
  6. I am the best man, father, and grandfather I can be.
  7. I am one bad-ass motherfucker.

The LADDER TO THE TOP 7 to complete TODAY. Get out of the comfort zone. GET USED TO DISCOMFORT and learn to thrive there: 

#1: Take a few moments and visualize what you will look like when you arrive where you’re going. Today: I am the best man, father, and grandfather I can be. WIN.

#2: Ironman discipline for the next 45 days: Rowing (the winter simulation of the swim). The half Ironman distance: 1,908 rows. The full Ironman distance: 3,816 rows. These workouts will be used intermittently for the rest of this 90-Day Burn cycle with the bike workouts. Goal is to get in four bike workouts and three rowing workouts a week. WIN.
01.27.20: 1,008 rows
01.28.20: 12.5 miles biked
01.29.20: 1,080 rows
01.30.20: 11.9 miles biked

#3: Research new ways to market our writing projects. WIN.

  • Researched Freebooksy 01.26.2020. $110 to advertise a FREE promotion.
  • Started looking at Read Freely and Shameless Books 01.27.2020. No real progress. Will hopefully dig into them a little more tomorrow.
  • Researched Read Freely 01.28.2020.
    They seem rather small. Lots of potential tools to use at a relatively cheap price. May be a good way to practice being interviewed. Probably a better candidate for Eat. Drink. F*ck. than the erotica projects.
  • Researched Shameless Books 01.29.2020.
    They look like the cheapest deal, but I’m not so sure there is much value here. Might be best to try these guys first.
  • Researched Excite Spice 01.30.2020.
    Multiple buying options. Looks like a good candidate to try out on numerous levels.

#4: Every workday, examine the Top 5 projects or exercises in place to take us to $100M. Make sure that all those Top 5 are still relevant and up to date. Make sure that I spend some time every day on at least 1 of those elements. Ensure that my team is focused on that Top 5 every day as well. On weekends, pray at least twice that God will grant success for this goal. WIN.

#5: Develop the mission statement for Begin publishing that mission statement on at least a weekly basis after the final is complete at the end of this current 90-Day Burn. Memorize the mission statement. Socialize the mission statement. Live, breath, eat, sleep, drink the mission statement. WIN.

#6: Over the next 41 days of habit forming, identify one area of growth for this goal of being the best man, father, and grandfather I can be, and implement the pursuit and track that area of growth here. WIN.

  • A fund for the children and the grandchildren is established. Donate to this fund on a regular basis. Funds will be shared with them at the end of the year. Pray daily for the revenue to make this significant.
  • A fund to pay off the house is established. Donate to this fund on a regular basis. The goal is to pay off the house this year. This asset will benefit the children and grandchildren. Pray daily for enough revenue to make this happen.
  • Pray for the children and grandchildren daily.

    01.30.20: Noah, Daniel, and Job. That’s a reference from Ezekiel. These men could only save themselves if they lived in the times that Ezekiel reported about. I’m thinking about these men this morning. Their lives. Their character. Lord, instill in me a double portion of the character of these men today. Help me live and run at life like Noah, Daniel, and Job. Lord, help me live a life that not only saves my life, but also impacts my children and grandchildren in a very positive way. I know I can’t save them, but I pray that my influence and my relationship with you will inspire them to have an even better relationship with you.

#7: Continue to work toward bad-ass. Daily podcasts include Andy Frisella’s MFCEO and REAL AF. Lewis Howes and his School of Greatness. Shawn Stevenson and his The Model Health Show. WIN.

The infrastructure and notes are in place to write the next 9 serials in the EAT. DRINK. F*CK. Series. That will be my focus until it’s done–about 45K words.
