The Journey Day 56 02.05.20

Day 56. Day 53 of #75HARD. Working out every day is kind of like my old drinking days: I remember a lot of drinking, but not that many hangovers. With working out every day, you don’t have to wait for the sore–you’re sore all the time.

Often the pain of resisting makes us rust like iron, and in order to re-enter the flow of life, we need to be scraped back to our original surface.

Listening to and reporting on the talk inside of my head:
I am calm this morning. Serene. I cannot say the last time this was true. I don’t remember it if it ever has been true. In the unpacking of my addiction, it was revealed that the “dry drunk” suffers from a condition referred to as “restless, irritable, and discontented.” That describes my whole life until this very morning. I have been restless, irritable, and discontented for the vast majority of my 55 years–even as a child. But this statement that I read in As A Man Thinketh struck me like a lightning bolt this morning: “The Vision that you glorify in your mind, the Ideal that you enthrone in your heart–this you will build your life by, this you will become.” Andy Frisella talks about having to do the work before you believe. I have done the work. I continue to do the work. I will continue to do the work. NOW I believe. The vision–my God-given vision–that I glorify in my mind, the ideal that is enthroned in my heart IS what I build my life by and this VISION is what I AM BECOMING.

SELF-SUGGESTION: THIS IS WHERE I’M GOING. WHERE IS THE PROOF OF PROGRESS TOWARD THAT GOAL TODAY? This is where the rubber hits the road, team. This is the good stuff. These are the end goals. This is what it’s all about.

  4. I help drive the company I work for to $100M.

Got offered a ground-floor position to create a sales and marketing team for a brand new company today. I meet with them the second week in March. I can do it for them in my spare time. We’ll see where this goes. This could possibly fund the savings for the kids/grandkids as well as the house payoff.
