#75Hard Day 4.

I’m thankful today for good health.

I woke up this morning and my left foot felt a ton better. I tweaked it over Christmas playing basketball with my kids. An audible “pop” followed by burning heat is NEVER a good thing.

Because of the holidays I couldn’t get in to see my foot doctor until tomorrow morning. Why do I have a foot doctor you may ask? Well, I am currently 16 months post Achilles surgery.

I’ve been an athlete all my life. I’ve been reckless with my body, I know what surgeries are like.

This was no different. HOWEVER, let me tell you about the rehab.

It sucked. Bad. I am finally mostly to the point where my right ankle/foot functions halfway normally.

It won’t ever be like my 25-year-old-ankles, but let’s face it: I have no business trying to pull some of THAT same shit off on any court or field lol.

So today I’m thankful for that.

Day 4 has been the toughest day yet.

However I found that it was mostly of my own doing.

I woke up later than usual because I had no deadlines. Nowhere to be until early afternoon.

I did my AM outdoor workout.

Again, I am enjoying this more than I imagined.

But my kids wanted to go see a movie so off we went.

Needless to say I did NOT take my gallon of water with me. Hell, I’d never see the movie lol. So I had to really push to get through that.

But dammit, I got it done.

That’s one of the things here. I’m finding that I am feeling responsible for meeting the daily rules for #75Hard. And I’m making choices and planning ahead accordingly.

I’m making better choices. Period.

I did meal prep this evening for the first time in I can’t remember how long.

I’m even looking forward to lunch this week because I want to see what effect it has on my physique. I ordered a post workout recovery “stack” from 1stPhorm and let me tell you — it’s fucking delicious.

I’m running later than normal but that’s ok. It’s 11:20pm and I am complete.

I know 4:30am will be here in a flash but it’s my time. It’s my peace.

And I can’t wait.
